Certifications

Accreditation by the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA) is intended to assist the general public in the selection of a qualified, professional door systems dealer when purchasing, servicing or installing a commercial or sectional door, automatic gate operator, fire door and other industry products. Companies earning the Accreditation seal have demonstrated a commitment to industry excellence by completing a demanding study course, documenting good business practices, and receiving recommendations from others with whom they do business.

Architectural Hardware Consultants

(AHCs) are trained to recognize a builder’s hardware requirements for door openings in all types of public, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. AHCs coordinate thousands of builders’ hardware items and options to ensure door openings are in compliance with fire, life safety, accessibility and building code requirements.

Certified Door Consultants

(CDCs) are trained in the construction and application of standard and custom hollow metal doors and frames, architectural flush and stile and rail wood doors and aluminum doors and frames. CDCs must master a myriad of fire, life safety, accessibility and building code requirements for all types of buildings.

Electrified Hardware Consultants

(EHCs) specialize in the coordination of architectural door openings with the increased security needs of public buildings in today’s society. EHCs are experts at interfacing electrified architectural hardware products into access control monitoring and fire alarm systems, while maintaining compliance with fire, life safety, accessibility and building code requirements.

Architectural Openings Consultants

(AOCs) are individuals who have attained AHC, CDC and EHC professional certifications. AOCs have mastered all facets of the commercial Door and Hardware industry and exemplify the highest standards of expertise and professionalism.

CDT: Construction Documents Technology

CSI’s Construction Documents Technology program provides foundation training in construction documentation for architects, contractors, contract administrators, specifies, and manufacturers representatives. It is an elite group of professionals known in the industry for their comprehensive knowledge of the writing and management of construction documents.

CCCA: Certified Construction Contract Administrators

(CCCA) are able to develop, administer and enforce construction documentation. Individuals with CCCA certification have proven their skill in quality assurance and control, bidding and negotiation procedures, construction observation and inspection, enforcement and liability, Division 01, General and Supplemental Conditions, agreements, and all other documents related to the project.

CPP: The Certified Protection Professional

(CPP) credential provides demonstrable proof of knowledge and management skills in security principles and practices, personal security, physical security, information security, crisis management, and the legal aspects of security management. Those who earn the CPP are ASIS board-certified in security management.

PCI: The Professional Certified Investigator

(PCI)® credential provides demonstrable proof of an individual’s knowledge and experience in case management, evidence collection, and preparation of reports and testimony to substantiate findings. Those who earn the PCI are ASIS board-certified in investigations.

PSP: The Physical Security Professional

(PSP)® credential provides demonstrated knowledge and experience in threat assessment and risk analysis; integrated physical security systems; and the appropriate identification, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of security measures. Those who earn the PSP are ASIS board-certified in physical security.

LEED Green Associate

A LEED Professional Credential signifies that you are a leader in the field and an active participant in the green building movement who contributes expertise to the design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings and neighborhoods that save energy, use fewer resources, reduce pollution, and contribute to healthier environments for their occupants and the community. The LEED Green Associate credential demonstrates a solid and current foundation in green building principles and practices.

PRP

The PRP is the international standard for professional certification in the field of premises security. International promotion of ALOA certified professionals provides recognition of their outstanding skills, training, experience, and leadership within the industry.

AAADM Certified technicians are trained and qualified to conduct annual inspections in accordance with current industry standards. The certification aims to improve and promote safety as well as the technologies available from AAADM member companies.

Fire Door Drop Test Certified technicians are trained to help building owners and managers stay in compliance with NFPA 80 standards, while maintaining the proper operation and full closure of all facility rolling and sliding fire doors.

FireCheck® certified personnel meet the annual inspection requirements found in NFPA 80 (fire), 101 (egress), and 105 (smoke). The FireCheck service evaluates the performance of rolling, sliding, accordion, and swinging fire-rated doors during an emergency.

Trained and certified operators are permitted to operate powered industrial trucks and meet OSHA rules and regulations.

FIRST AID and CPR certified individuals are trained to respond to common first aid emergencies as well as cardiac and breathing emergencies.
